Discover the CiRCE Apprenticeship

Classical Training

CiRCE Institute’s Apprenticeship Program is an in-depth, personal teacher development community in which a Master Teacher mentors a small group of educators in classical rhetoric and classical modes of instruction.

A Latin Apprenticeship Program, Tirocinium Latinum is crafted to help parents, teachers, or students who want to learn Latin by building the required skills to think, read, and communicate in Latin.

In The CiRCE Institute’s newest apprenticeship program, we will be offering training to graduates of the Master Teacher Apprenticeship program to help Master Teachers learn how to develop their own curriculum.

The cohort is designed to support school leaders, headmasters, department heads, board members, and heads of school by enriching their understanding of classical education and developing their seven commitments in order to build a healthy Christ-centered school.

A one-year program, the CiRCE Atrium program explores the foundations of Christian classical education with online classes and discussions. The Atrium now features four courses. Participants can choose any one course or sign up for multiple courses!

As a way to supplement training for your teachers or yourself as a life-long learner, CiRCE offers a variety of 90-minute webinars and four -six week intensives throughout the year. Find training and support in these areas of teaching: classical education, pedagogy, language acquisition, The Lost Tools of Writing, and literature discussions.

Whether you are mid-way through preparing to launch a school or mid-way through the year with a school, whether you are twenty years on the journey with a school or five months, your questions and concerns are real. We can help you see your school as a whole while also addressing its parts.

Purpose of a workshop:
• Planting seeds to grow a flourishing local community of classical educators
• Gathering people pursuing the same life
• Learning and growing in the classical tradition
• To help you find your neighbors, co-laborers pursuing knowledge, wisdom, and virtue

The Hearth is a community of mommas who are in the journey of pouring into their children by means of a Christian classical education. This community is meant to help do this well… by equipping [you] with foundational knowledge about classical education and what it can look like in your family.

CiRCE is offering two onsite summer intensives (Latin and Teaching) to offer a foundation in teaching Latin or in Christian classical education.

CiRCE Online features courses in classical composition and literature taught by CiRCE Apprenticeship trained, experienced, and dedicated classical educators, and it provides a digital model for Christian classical education designed to help parents supplement the classical education of their children.

Please specify whether you are submitting to the FORMA Symposium (which automatically counts as submission to the Journal) or just the FORMA Journal. Submissions are due by October 31st. FORMA contemplates ancient ideas for contemporary people. We are a community of classical educators and thinkers who seek to better understand the Great Books and their influence on contemporary literature and the arts.

The FORMA Review, now open for submissions, seeks to shed light on classic texts. Unlike most journals, we review not only the newest books but the most influential books. Today, many of the Great Books have been sidelined, forgotten, or passed over for more “relevant” texts. We hope to return the classic works of the past to the forefront by sharing new reviews of old books.

We also believe excellence and beauty incite imitation, so we look for the influence of the Classics on modern texts and invite reviews of contemporary works that note this influence on both form and content.

While the content of these book reviews may seem unexpected, the form does not; submitted book reviews should follow the standard form of the book review: summarizing the existing conversation on the topic, noting how the book enters into that conversation, analyzing the content, and assessing the success of the author (summary should only be done to the extent that it enables these four). Submissions should be between 1,000-2,000 words.

Please submit your review and a short bio to formamag@circeinstitute.org. There is no deadline for submission. By submitting, you are agreeing to allow CiRCE exclusive publication rights to accepted works. Authors maintain the copyright to their own work.
